In Rev. 13:18 the XξϚ has been translated to be the numeral 666. This is not correct.

The verse indicates that wisdom is required to understand the message (not an exercise in numerology)... “Here is wisdom, let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man. His number is XξϚ (not 666).”

'number'….(αριθμoν)…can also mean: mark of a station, worth, value.
'calculate'….(ψηθισατω)…can also mean: determine, conclude, identify, recognize
