....in a twinkling of an eye, the DEAD in Christ will be raised.
....in a twinkling of an eye, the DEAD in Christ will be raised.
I Cor. 15:51-52
... Παντες μεν ου κοιμηθησομεθα παντες δε άλλαγησόμεθα έν άτόμω....
...Παντες (All) μεν (truly, indeed) ού (where, since, until) κοιμηθησομεθα (we will fall asleep, we will die) παντες (all) δε (but) άλλαγησόμεθα (we shall be changed) έν (in) άτόμω (an instant)....
….= Since indeed we shall all fall asleep, but we shall all be changed in an instant, in the twinkling of an eye at the last trumpet.
Many Christian churches have taught the incorrect English translation which has been written as follows: “We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed.”. This gives the misleading message that many Christians will be alive at the return of Christ and, that at this time, they will be changed from living to spirit in the twinkling of an eye at the last trumpet.
This teaching is false and misleading because it insults the sacrifice of Christ and of all the apostles and disciples. Christ said that we are to carry His cross and that we will suffer the same fate as Himself. How can we believe that a True Christian will be able to escape persecution and death while witnessing to and proclaiming the kingdom of God when Christ stood for the Truth and for us as sinners so that those that repent and do the works of faith can be forgiven? He died for us. It is only fitting that we will stand and die for Him before His return. If you study the original Greek words in this scripture, you will see that proper translation is “Behold, an understanding I tell you: Since indeed we shall all fall asleep, but we shall all be changed in an instant, in twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For a trumpet will sound and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.”
Why should Christians not be subject to and escape martyrdom and death for the Truth and Christ? Do Christians think that because they live by, believe in, and embrace freedom of rights and religion that they will be protected and be spared the death in dying for the Truth and the Christ? What hypocrisy! If we do believe that freedom of religion will protect us physically then we are condemned spiritually for we have betrayed and denied Christ as the One and Only Way to the True God.
Ref.: 5th seal: ...I saw under the altar the souls of those having been slain because of the
Word of God and because of the testimony which they held; and they were crying with a loud voice, saying “Until when, O Holy and True Master, do you not judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?” And was given to each robes white; and it was said to them that they should rest yet a little time, until shall be fulfilled both their fellow-bondmen and their brethren, those being about to be killed as also they.
Ref.: Matt 24:3; ...And then many will be offended, and one another they will deliver up and will hate one another. And you will be hated by all the nations on account of my name. Then they will deliver up you to tribulation (pressure, affliction) and will kill you because there shall be proclaimed the glad tidings of the kingdom in all the habitable earth for a testimony to all the nations. But he who endures to end (to death) he shall be saved.
